The Central Coast Symphony Orchestra-was formed from community orchestras in 1999 with the support of the Central Coast Conservatorium Inc. Based in Gosford, the Central Coast Symphony Orchestra has been evolving as a genuine community orchestra with a solid professional core derived from tutors and students at the Conservatorium. The high performance standards of the Orchestra are borne out by its popularity, as most of its concerts are sold out.

The Central Coast Symphony Orchestra is The Central Coast's major cultural asset, unique in the cultural life of New South Wales. The presence of a thriving symphony orchestra is a positive indicator of the cultural maturity of a community. Under the guidance of Christopher Bearman, Director of the Central Coast Conservatorium the Orchestra has attained its enviable status in a relatively short time.
