Mission Statement

To enable all, of any age or background, to acquire the skills involved in music performance and an informed appreciation of music, to benefit them in their careers or lifestyle.

Step by Step Music Program

Central Coast Conservatorium's Step by Step Program is an educational program to learn the chosen music instrument and to train students of how to perform on that instrument.

It is based on realistic outcomes for students to achieve a sound grounding and musical knowledge in instrumental and voice training and performance. The Curriculum and Assessment framework is implemented across all departments. It is designed to articulate with the AMEB syllabus throughout all levels.

STEP 1 - Pre-School Course (for children) / Preliminary Instrumental Level (for adult/Junior)

Pre-School Course provides children with opportunities to develop their love and understanding of music. view course detail

Preliminary Instrumental Level is designed for students who are beginners or in the early stages of learning. view course detail

STEP 2 - Level 1 (Units 1, 2 and 3)

The units in this level are designed to build on a student’s knowledge gained from the Preliminary Level. view course detail

STEP 3 - Level 2 (Units 4 and 5)

These units are the intermediate stage of pre-tertiary instrumental training. The repertoire is extended to most keys and encourages a suitable standard for performance. view course detail

STEP 4 - Level 3 (Units 6 and 7)

During this level students will begin to develop an individual approach to their musical study. view course detail

The Certificate IV course provides an intermediate step between Grade 7/8 and advanced study e.g. Diploma of Music or tertiary degrees in music. view course detail
