Guitar Ensemble
The ensemble comprises a group of electric guitarists. It provides the opportunity for students to further develop sightreading, improvisation and ensemble and rhythm section skills. Reading needs to be at least Grade 2 or 3 level, up to fret 12, although students are not expected to be perfect in sight reading skills for this ensemble. The opportunity is provided for students to gain experience in performing and students are expected to take advantage of this important facet of their music education. From time to time guest professional musicians also act as mentors.
Rehearsals: Weekly on Thursdays 7-8pm in Robert Knox Hall
Director: Steve Smillie (pictured)
