David Kimpton, BMus - David completed his Bachelor of
Music Degree at Newcastle Conservatorium in 2007, majoring in
Composition. He played Percussion for Waratah Brass - Newcastle, one of
Australia's top Brass Bands, from 2003-2007, including 18 months as
Principal Percussionist, and in 2008 he joined the Willoughby Band in
Sydney. David has also been a Percussionist with the Central Coast
Symphony since 2001, having come through the Conservatorium's ensembles
program under the guidance of Rebecca Morris and Sean Cadogan-Steele.
He has also performed with Orchestra Nova and The Occasional Performing
Sinfonia as a freelance percussionist. In his free time, David also
enjoys playing Piano and Trombone, as well as conducting and composing. Raphael Strazz - had private drum lessons with Millan
Throa, Gordon Rythmaister and Dave Goodman. Raphael is currently
enrolled at Bachelor of Music (AIM). His qualifications include AMEB –
CPM Advancing Step result: A. and Billy Hydes advanced drum kit
certificate.
Performing experience - Jazz and Latin gigs with: Steve Hunter, Hugh
Fraser, Gary Holgate, Andrew Ho, Guy Strazz, Vlad Khusid, Virna Sanzone
and Alister Spence.
Genre - R’n’B, Pop, Motown, Reggae, Funk with Mahogany (Skeed Entertainment).
Composition - Co-writer of Production music for Vitamin A/BMG (one track “Urban Desert” released internationally in 2006).
